I'm pulling my RPOD 180 with a 4 cylinder diesel engine. It's the 4 door crew cab Chevy Colorado with the Duramax engine. I'm getting 29 mpg on the highway without the RPOD and 18 mpg pulling the RPOD. I pull the RPOD fully loaded with water everywhere I go.

I get close to those mileage figures also with my 4 cylinder diesel (RAM Eco Diesel).  Gotta love the diesel! You should post a picture of your rig.

I would post a photo of my rig but I still haven't figured out how to post pictures. Sorry. They make it so difficult.

My first post. Just got a 2017 Rpod 180. Love it. Pull it with a 2012 Toyota Tundra 4.6l work truck. Hardly know it's back there. 75mph at 2300rpm using 5th gear. It the wind is blowing or there are hills I use 4th gear around 3000rpm at 65mph.
2017 RPOD 180 named VentuRpod

Similar to Yakinator, we use a 4.6 powered 2010 Tundra CrewMax w/tow package. The specific auto transmission mated to the 4.6 engine was designed just for that engine. (The trans mated to the Tundra 5.7 is different.)

I've been more impressed with this 4.6 than I was expecting. The software controlling the Tow/Haul mode shift points is perfect for the Pod, and this engine just hunkers down and goes to work as needed. When we unhook, the r.p.m. drops to a lope on the flats to get 20 m.p.g. w/o trailer. Agreed, this is not stellar, since Tundra's fuel economy is it's weak point amid the currently more updated full-sized herd.

Still, I feel good about the 4.6 for a little more HWY fuel economy when not towing. I also have great respect for the Tundra's bulletproof 5.7 choice, plus the reliability track record for Tundra. If F-150, I lean toward the simpler non-turbo 5.0 V-8. Anybody out there towing your Pod with that engine?

We are towing a 2017 180 with a 2008 Ford F-150 with 5.4L V-8.  You don't even know it is there.  Getting about 12 MPG towing.
When in doubt, don't.
