Thanks Charlie - if I go with your recommendation to wire from the control panel and then through the roof, does the wire to the rear observation camera get attached on the outside roof surface or is there a way to route the wire inside the trailer to the rear area near and below the running light spoiler?

A lot depends on which vehicle you're mounting it on and what you want it to do. On the trailer for a rear view mirror while driving or on the TV for hitching?

Assuming the former you can tap into a hot 12V line in the trailer, add a switch, and route the wire to the camera mounter outside. Connecting at the power panel is best. I drilled a small hole near the ceiling and caulked the hole. Running the wire out under the rear spoiler might be an option. Either way you have to be able to power the camera without running lights on. Just remember to turn the camera off if you're dry camping to conserve battery energy.

My wife and I just bought a 2015 178 at the local (Albuquerque) Camping World last week. Currently we are outfitting and learning all we can from other users and this wonderful informative forum group. Hitch lock, additional keys, cordless drill bit for stabilizer jacks, cover and other miscellany so far.

Any advice on how to hookup (wire) a wireless backup camera. Thinking under the running light cover, tail light or license plate as possible connect points, but would prefer connection that doesn't require lights to be switched on. Any guidance would be mucho appreciated.

Planning our first outing to Santa Barbara campground near Penasco, NM.
Anybody been there?

Thanks, and looking forward to our new membership here...
