I was told that now all ATF is synthetic. I never researched that but it sounded good at the time.

On my 2010 F150, the temp and tranny gauges always read the same (they don't have numbers, just the gauge if that makes sense) whether I'm pulling the pod or not. Neither of them ever reach the halfway point. I don't believe all ATF is synthetic, but I think is a better choice if changing. hogone
