WOW, Thanks for all the input folks, and No I have not retired, far from it. We are really impressed with the units looks and features. We are getting ours this week I believe, the holiday weekend threw a kink in things and the dealer does not seem to have a sense of priority. At any rate we are really excited about it and look forward to meeting some of you all one day. Thanks again for all the inputs and reflections.

Diane
I haven't retired from teaching yet, just using my summer vacations to practice being retired.

Welcome.
We are just back from spending 44 nights in our pod and are very happy with it. In fact we are heading out for another three weeks. We have had a few issues. The Gastropod is in getting new door hinges as we speak as well as sway bars. We found it fish-tailed a bit over 100 km going downhill which is a bit nerve-wracking hence the sway bars. Hopefully that will look after the problem. We put on just under 9,000 kms and are very satisfied with our choice. We wish you many years of good living in your new pod!

Bette,
We've really missed you and Tom since you started gallivanting around in your retirement! Glad the Pod is working out well for your adventures. Keep in touch!

Thanks Diane,
We found it harder to find places to sign in than we expected on the last trip. Hopefully this trip to the Grand Canyon will have more places with wifi. I am thrilled with the gallivanting but Tom was happy to come home. After retiring on July 22, he still has spent less than two weeks at home. ![]() I have not had a chance to read many forum comments since we got back and have really missed all you folks. Incidentally Gastropod's door was hung crooked to begin with which twisted the bottom hinge. Works like a charm now though. Heading out tomorrow for the next adventure! B

We've had ours a little over a year now and have used it numerous times with no issues. We have been thrilled with ours after upgrading from a pop up!

Hi, we have the 152 which is the discontinued little brother/sister of the 172. We love that the r-pods are so small and easy to tow around and yet have all the features of a much bigger RV. We take ours out at least twice a month for long weekends or for one 10-day trip once a month.
The main complaint that we've heard about our layout is the lack of storage space for clothing and personal items. We've dealt with that problem by using hanging toiletry kits with a removable shower bag similar to this, and we pack small and use packing cubes to organize our clothes. The clothes bags are then tossed above the microwave cabinet, under the lower bunk or under the dinette. You may want to ask for the top bunk to be loose so that it can easily be modified/lifted up so that you can sit comfortably on the lower bunk to put your shoes and socks on without hitting your head. There isn't anywhere else to sit to do that unless the dinette is in bed mode. |
