Questions We Can't Answer Alone

   Here are a couple of questions we would like to find answers to without more angst than is necessary!  

1) Is there a manual slide out switch (gee we hope so)? If so, where is it and how does it operate? We could foresee some malfunction or power issue that might make the electric switch inoperable. Can't imagine you could drive down the road with the darn thing in the out position. 

2)  There is a white hose under the kitchen sink that is not connected to anything in our unit. Is that possibly a drain hose? This time we hope not because it would just drain directly onto the floor. 

Thanks very much in advance. I am working on the premise that no question is a dumb question.
