Thank you for being so welcoming! It was wonderful to read all the responses.

When I bought the trailer from Can-Am in Lambeth (you may have heard of them, they are known North America wide), they took me through a training session. They taught me to back up using mirrors only (I always use mirrors only, don't like twisting around) and I have successfully parked my Poddie four times now. What a feeling of empowerment! Woo Hoo!

Everyone who toured my Poddie (by sticking their head inside) were duly impressed. It's not a come-down at all after the fifth wheel.

Looking forward to learning lots from everyone!

Taya H.

Nice picture and congratulations on the parking successes!  I'm sure you'll do just fine.  The only problem I see is that the Pod isn't moving....it needs to be going down the road on an adventure!Smile

Hi Taya,

We also purchased our R-pod from Can-am last fall and have used it alot since then. We are not too far from you in Burlington.

My mother, who lives in Etobicoke, is also a widow and has recently told us she plans to start using the Airstream trailer she and my Dad had again.

Safe travels,

Phil

I too am a widow and hope to  be picking up a Pod in the spring. I just sold my Scamp which was just a bit too small for me.  What size r-pod do you have? I could not tell from the photo what size your model was but that is great that you can pull with the CRV.  I started camping alone - never had been in my life - never even been in a trailer!  I hope we meet up at a rally some day.

I have been divorced after 30 years, and I have the 173. I go by myself all the time and just joined a group call Sisters on the Fly. Great group of women campers across the USA.  Google Sisters On the Fly, they have alot of vintage campers but new ones are allowed also. R-pod Nation is having a rally June 26 at Kentucky Horse Park. Hope you can come.

Welcome Taya! I am sorry about your loss. I am also a widow.  My husband and I used to go camping with a pop-up. Last year I finally sold it and used the money for a down-payment on an R-Pod. One of the best decisions I have ever made. I love mine and I bet you will feel the same about yours. It is a great way to meet new people. Great picture!
