What questions should I ask at the walkthrough ? Maybe something I will forget to ask.

I am picking up my 180 soon. Brand new. first-time owner of an rpod. I have previously camped in a tent, pop-up camper, and a class motor home.

My wife and I are Two retired School teachers who have encamped in 16 years. The design, size, and lightweight of the 180 enticed us to start camping again.

We have had our 180 for five months now, have over 7,000 miles on it.

A couple of thing to check while at the dealer.
1. Bring a DVD with you, make sure the TV is working, maybe even check for local channels via the HD antenna.

2.  Have them show you where the electric hot water switch is located. (it is kind of hidden in the hot water heater assembly.

3. Have them check all the bolts holding the water tanks.  I found a few loose.

4. Try every light, we had one that the wire came loose.

5. Check mirror in bath room, if they do not ave mirror clips you should add them.  The mirror is held on with double stick tape.  Ours fell off with hot weather.

These are all minor things, but if they are taken care of now you it may save you some stress.

We have enjoyed our 180 very much and look forward on getting back on the road when it cools down here in Texas.

Enjoy and welcome to the forum.

Dave

I would suggest that you video the walk thru and have them demonstrate every appliance etc so that down the road you can use it as a reminder.

Have them show you where the water heater bypass valves are (and how to use them) as well as where the antifreeze hose and valve are located (and how to use it when winterizing).  While they show you them, you can make sure that the bypass valves are set correctly, since a lot of new owners complain that the water only gets lukewarm.  That's usually the problem.

Call them a few days in advance and tell them you're expecting the AC to be on in the unit.  You'll also want to ask them to turn on the frig the night before, so you can see that it's cooling.

Check to make sure the spare tire carrier is properly attached to the hitch.  Ours was not and we could have killed someone if it had come off on the way home.

My dealer is 2 hours away. In Middlebury Indiana. The outpostrv center. So I sure appreciate all these tips. If I had to return the trailer for warranty repairs, it would be very time consuming. Thanks again

Trust me.  I know that feeling.  My dealer is 1.5 hours away.  Had it back once already and probably need to take it back again for work.

Ours is a 2016 RP179. Our dealer is also about 2 hours away. We had to have ours back also. It is good to check things out, but if you do have to take it in, remember to call before going out to pick it up. We did make the trip once, and it was not right. We had to make a separate trip later when it was really done.
