Hi All.  Need help figuring out the best way to install a clothes rod in the shower.  The dealer says no way, but I've read some discussion about it in this forum.  My pod is basically a rolling hotel room and with dogs I really need to put some things on hangers in a safe spot.  My 2014 has a small rod that opens and extends over the bed...but like I said...there are the dogs.

Ideas, photos, instructions will be much appreciated.

Pods used to have removeable clothes rods in the showers already.  Your dealer must not have sold many Pods before.  You might even be able to call forest river and order these pieces.  It's just two grooved holders on each end and the fitted rod that just slides right in and out of them.

I don't know if anyone still has theirs in there but maybe they can snap a pic.  Actually I just found one.   These used to be in all Pods.  I think most of us just threw them out over the years though.  Although I'm certain some people use them still probably.

Does anybody know if a tension shower rod would work? It might be handy to have that against the far wall to hang stuff but don't know if the walls would take the pressure. It wouldn't be for anything heavy, just damp towels and maybe swimsuits.

Yes, it does.  We use a shorter one and put it up between the outside and inside walls, and use it to hang up wet coats, clothes and towels to dry.

Does a 178 not have a drop down close rod deal in the "bedroom"?

Wonderful!  Thank you so much for all your advice and information.  The photo is especially helpful and I'll start working on this myself over the winter months.

BTW, my 178 does have a small drop down rod that extends over the bed.  But my lab is a shedding machine that have claimed the bed as his own - hence a need for a better clothes closet option.  :)

Nice thing about tensions rods is you don't have to put too much tension on them to work.  There is another photo out there on google somewhere of someone using one.  I never heard anyone mention they hurt anything so I guess it works just fine.

We removed the yellow storage thing after the first trip but have always used the bar that is in Travis's picture to hang good clothes on. I would not get rid of it as it turns that small space over the potty into a great little closet. Goose

I always bumped my head on the rod at night, so I cut it in half.

If you want something done right, do it yourself.
