Topic: Florida owners, sign in, please! Posted: 30 Jan 2013 at 9:50am |
After reading the posts about the Winter Campout in Pennsylvania, and how much everyone enjoyed meeting the other owners, I thought a list of owners and friends in the North and Central Florida area could result in a similar get together. I'll start with some information I already know, and edit / up-date this entry as you log in. Bob and Joyce, Cedar Key Gypsy Edie and Joe, Cedar Key TerryM, St. Augustine gabe, Orlando

Hey you are more than welcome to come on up. I just looked at the map and its only 993 miles to the snow and cold of French Creek The way I worked the last 2 French Creek Trips was I threw out a date and a place on the board and invited all to come.

We are snowbirds from New York. We have a place in Fort Myers, but we love the Florida state parks so much that we use our RPod to travel around the state. We sold our big camper trailer thinking that we would be weekend travelers and maybe a week in Key Largo where we are now. Our plans were altered this winter when my husband learned that he had prostate cancer. So now, we are going to be up in the Jacksonville area, living out of our RPod for two months while he receives proton therapy. We also were able to keep our original plans of going to New Orleans for a week in February to see our daughter run in a half marathon. So this little Rpod is going to get a lot of use!!!

Please add us to Fla. Podders.
We be trailer trash. We have single wide in Sebastian Fl. (wheels removed) where we are in the winter Oct.- May. North Carolina, Raccoon Holler-Glendale Springs, summer May-Oct, where we have Mountain Cabin Jayco trailer (4 wheels on ground). Both locations are base camps where we venture out in the Pod (2 wheels) to explore surrounds, Fl. & NC. and points in between. Wheels on ground= 10 counting TV, as you can see I count things that require to much attention, thats how we started this RV thing- counted spark plugs, sold everything, downsized bought an RV and hit the road never looked back. Thanks for reading, Dan
(ps) a pod group stayed at CG in Racoon Holler summer 2013, I did not make contact with anyone, did not have R pod then.

Hi this is Jula1961, my name is Julia and I have an Rpod 173. I live in Jacksonville, and am wanting to be active on the list in Jacksonville for possible get together s locally or not to far away. Wondered where you were camping in Jax. as i am a native. My first trip scheduled so far is down to the Swannee Park in May with my sister and her husband. they have a 27 foot camper and camp there often. My husband does professional shooting matches on the weekends and I am doing the camping :). Hope all goes well with the proton therapy. Hoping to meet new friends. Julia...newbie
