Topic: Television and Stereo Posted: 26 Jun 2018 at 10:06pm |
my 2019 Rpod 171 has TV and a Furrion stereo. On the back of the TV, there is a coax cable for the tv signal, but it also has a trio of component cables hooked up to it. They come from behind the tv. Does anyone know where the other end terminates? The stereo manual shows it has component jacks on it? Could they be connected?

If you're talking about the red/white/yellow RCA cables they go to the Furrion radio. It is also the DVD player.

Well, does anyone know if the current stereo has any capability to display anything to the TV? I wish it still had the DVD player for those rainy nights..

Yes. They are designed to stream from a phone, ROKU, fire stick, etc.

I just bought a Sony home DVD player for my 2018 rPod 180.
I installed it on the shelf in the pantry that I just built and drilled a hole into the cupboard wall and ran the power cable and HDMI cable behind the Furrion stereo and plugged the HDMI cable directly into the TV. From what I understand, HDMI carries both video and audio signals. I haven’t tried it yet to see if it works because I didn’t have power connected to the trailer last weekend when I installed theDVD player. There was a spare 110 socket where the TV plugs in that I used to plug in the DVD player. Hopefully it will be simple matter of selecting the HDMI input on the TV to play the DVD player.
I wish Forest River hand to changed the stereo because I could care less about streaming, but I have an extensive DVD collection.
If someone has tried this already please let me know how it worked out. I thought it would be a hoot to watch my DVD of the Lucile Ball / Desi Arnaz movie ‘The Long along Trailer’ from inside my new trailer!

The concept of streaming something while in a campground seems like an oxymoron to me...

We have about 500 hours of music on a phone, along with about a hundred of our favorite movies.. takes up almost no room in the camper.. ready anytime regardless of weather, connection, etc. I used to stream Pandora a lot, if we had phone signal.

Okay, so I could copy some movies on a memory stick and play it on the TV through the stereo? We were just talking about wanting to watch The long long trailer too. I went and looked at the instruction manual I don’t see anything about how to play something? Thx
