We got some blue film used to color spot lights at our local theater. Did half of the fixtures in front and half in the back, allows you to chose reduced light or bright by which one you turn on. Has worked great for us for a couple years so far.

Like Keith and Dar our 2011 model 177 came with incandescent bulbs. The first replacements L.E.D's were way too bright, we then replaced them with L.E.D.'s that gave off a "yellowish" color, close to the incandescents we originally had, around 2800K - which gave a much softer and less intense brightness. The first replacements were in the 4500 - 5000 K range, very, very bright and blue in color.

We found our LED lights disturbingly bright so I cut pieces of exposed x-ray film, it has a greyish blue tint and removes enough of the intensity to be comfortable and still read easily. I cut the film so it fits inside the plastic lens yet bends out so it doesn't come anywhere near the LED's. Works great and I did all the lights except the bathroom.
Any type of tinted plastic that holds it's shape would do just fine. r |

I have used automotive engine paint. It can take the heat and you pick the color. Spray inside of lens & start with a lite coat to test darkness. You can only do the light you want to dim. I did this but not in my r-pod.

Check out these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Y1CFCMY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 We have them in all fixtures except the one in the kitchen slide-out, which we kept bright white. This bulb in the bath fixture makes for an excellent night light, BTW...

I just got one of these recently to play around with. Haven't taken it camping yet, but it sure is a nifty gadget and I really like the light.

You could try shopping around for "bulbs" with fewer diodes and this may help, to a degree. In my case, the one over my dinette table can still be annoying, due to the angles and close distance. Sometimes, a well placed piece or two of tape on the lens.......... |

Mine are led lights and extremely bright. I've been using the bathroom light, with the door closed. There's just enough light coming from the door gap. Not a problem in the daytime, but at night I could wear sunglasses. Hey, that's an idea, we will just wear sunglasses at night....problem solved lol...

I don't know if it has changed but my incandescent bulbs in our 2011 177 are wedge base. They pull straight out with a firm pull. I replaced them with LED replacements and gained lots of battery life. Also, if I had two or more of the lights on the fan in the converter ran. Now I can have all on and it doesn't run. |
