Welcome and congratulations on your 179. My wife and I recently returned from a trip of over 3,000 miles. Some of that was in-and-around mileage not towing, but most of it was while towing with our 2010 Nissan Frontier. We really enjoy our 179. I hope you both have many fine trips and make many great memories with your 179.
I have done a number of modifications to ours, some of which may be useful to you with yours. See the link in my signature.

Hi My name is Bill and I just purchased a new 179. I am towing with a 2015 Ford Explorer. I have only towed it for 550 miles. I have towed a lot and the Explorer with the tow package did fine. Will post picture as soon as I can. I only have had it for 3 days. Bill

I would run the furnace and AC to make sure they work. Check the lights, stove, microwave and entertainment system too. On the outside I would check the seams between the side panels and the roof. Not a bad idea to look at the hitch, jack and power connector and check brake, running and turn signals.

Pull the mattress out, check your corners.  Open up storage compartments both inside and outside and check the sides and floor for water leakage, will show dark stain marks on the luan inside the storage areas.  Make sure your fridge works on both electric 110 and propane.  I wouldn't worry about the battery end of the fridge, I used it one time before I knew better, took my deep cycle battery down to zero in less than 8 hours, never used it on battery since, and that was over 6 years ago.  Another thing to do is have someone with a hose spray the top as well toward the windows while you are inside and check for wet or leaking areas.  Again, after doing that check your storage areas and see if they are still dry.

Thank you all. I will check out the plumbing, tanks and tires. But I wonder about the seals. Out here in Eastern Washington it rains 9 months of the year. The interior did not smell, but where are the spots to check for dry rot?

+1 to the plumbing. Associated with that would be the hot water heater. If you can hook up to shore power and city water, I would try the hot water both on gas and electric. Be sure to pressurize the tank and bleed air before you turn on the heater.
