I don't see an issue with the quotes at all.  If you have issues with it then God is talking to you and you are refusing to listen.  One day you will listen to him and then it will be too late.  I feel sorry for those in that boat but you chose your own path.

In one of the oldest books of the Bible, the book of Job, the question is asked, “If a man dies, shall he live again?” (14:14). That is a question everyone should ask in life. What will happen when we die? What is there beyond this place called Earth?
Before I was a Christian, I thought about this quite often. I was only a teenager. It was sort of a heavy subject to be contemplating, but I did find myself thinking about death on a semi-regular basis. My belief at the time was that once you stop living, you simply cease to exist. I wasn’t certain there was a place called Heaven. I definitely was hoping there wasn’t a place called Hell. My conclusion was that when you’re dead, you’re dead. And it really scared me to think that I could simply cease to exist.
This is something that many people are thinking about today, because numerous books have been published on the subject of spirituality and life beyond the grave. For my generation, the Baby Boomers, the inevitability of death is approaching. We are having to come face-to-face with our mortality. We used to sing that we were forever young, but that song doesn’t ring true like it once did. We are becoming forever old. The clock is ticking. Time is marching on. We are trying to pretend it isn’t happening and trying to turn back time, but we know that death is coming.
What happens beyond the grave? According to the Bible, there is life beyond the grave. And because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross, and His resurrection three days later, we as Christians have the hope that when we die, we will immediately go into the presence of God to a wonderful place called Heaven.

Maybe we should allow any quote we would put on our Rpod. Maybe the complainers should get a life. Jesus is Lord!

Maybe this post should have been in "non pod discussions"? It's not a podmod, tip, Maintenance, or trick. It's a opinion or question about how you tagline your post.
These taglines are added at the bottom where I put my name, what I drive, and pull after my comment, Hope that doesn't offend anyone. The tagline doesn't add to or detract from the discussion at hand.

Live and let live.

As I stated in my post on p. 1, above, putting a tagline that isn't likely to offend or hurt another board member is something, it seems to me, we should all be able to accept.  Putting your religious beliefs in the text of a post is another matter.  If you want to do that, put them in your own church's website or in a site devoted to religious discussions.

Posts like rascalrv's and henry, from my point of view, cross the line to proselytizing.
"If you have issues with it then God is talking to you and you are refusing to listen.  One day you will listen to him and then it will be too late.  I feel sorry for those in that boat but you chose your own path." and "Maybe we should allow any quote we would put on our Rpod. Maybe the complainers should get a life. Jesus is Lord!"

These posts suggests those of other faiths have no life or that those who those who don't listen to rascalrv's god are objects of his pity and will be presumably condemned to eternal damnation.

This is offensive and arrogant.  It is evangelizing and hurtful for those who are not charismatic christians.  If someone who is a satanist posted an equivalent comment all hell (no pun intended) would break loose.

Folks, we have a diverse group of people participating on this board who have many different religious and non-religious beliefs from Charismatic, to Catholic, to Buddhist, to Bahai, Jewish, Hindu, Moslem, Athiest, Agnostic, Animist, etc. etc. etc.  Lets keep religion and politics out of the posts and those in the tag lines to quotes that don't promote one religion over another.  For example:  Saying God loves all mankind is one thing, but saying God will make you burn in hell if you do not follow the teachings of Russian Orthodox Church is quite another.

Admin. folks you may want to clarify this before it starts into a big argument.

I couldn't help but notice d that many of the comments suggest that I should just ignore the quotes and I had pretty much decided that that was the way to go and let sleeping dogs lie. Unfortunately, the were those who felt the need to intimate that I may be going someplace unpleasant shortly after I take my last breath which was exactly why I questioned the practice religious quotes. I also noticed that one of the rules for the non pod discussions was no politics and no relgion. Why doesn't this apply across entire forum?

It really doesn't matter where this issue is posted and one would assume that the administrators could move it.  I know that on a board where i was once a moderator, I moved topics from time to time to fit the headings.

But all that being said, religious and political discussions do not belong on this board. (period)  It doesn't matter where they are filed.  If one wishes to proselytize, perhaps it would be best to have a denominational r-Pod board apart from this one for followers of a particular religion and if you know that you're entering the r-Podders for [insert religion or political belief] you do so at your peril.

l, like mad67, don't like being told that if I don't subscribe to a particular form of christianity, that I'll be damned to hell.  I don't care if others may feel that way, and perhaps I do about them, but we should keep it to our selves.

There are certainly a lot of people who have strong religious and/or political opinions who participate in this board, including me.  But, especially in an electronic communication format where good manners is already a problem, it's best to stick to the topics of the board.

Yes, Mad67, I think you ARE the only one! Have you noticed nobody has a Buddha or Islam quote? I say if you want to, go for it. It's a free country. Christians such as myself are not threatened by these lesser religions. Proselytizing is trying to convince others to choose your way. You have a free choice. Making a short statement does NOT cross that line. Pardon me if I "got you wrong".

Seriously, how has the forum come to this? Isn't it supposd to be about R-pods and the enjoyment derived therefrom? Simple fix, tag lines limited to name, RV & TV - no non-pod-related content. I've learned a lot from reading posts, let's not allow the forum devolve into something it was never meant to be. Just a thought.
