Been reading the forum for quite some time. Bought a tow vehicle about two months ago. Now ready to move on an rpod. Decided to go new.  I got a quote from a dealer near Houston. Rpod 178 ( not hood river). Quote is $14950 - before taxes, fees, etc.    it's one of the new blue color rpod - with awning, ac, tv.....I believe all options.  Any feedback on this price? Thanks in advance, Dave

Sounds like a pretty fair price to me.  When we purchased our 2011  model 177 back in January 2011 we paid $ 12,500 with tax,  it was special ordered and  did NOT include A/C, microwave/convection oven, or the entertainment center.  Since we normally boondock, where no electricity is available we figured the above weren't necessary, and for the most part, even after 6 years we have had few regrets over our decision. I suppose you could call Couch's, the largest R-Pod dealer and see what they would charge for a a comparably equipped 178, then again, that would be a long way to travel to save $$$$$ unless it was a significant amount.

Sounds like a really good deal to me. I just purchased a 176 for 18,500 in California. It is a Hood River model with an electric tongue jack and every option available, but I think that is an excellent price.

We paid 14600 for a 2017.5 180 from CouchRV last November.
*Always* buy somewhat locally if price is within reason.
And that's not a bad price.

I have a 2015 178. I happened upon a "liquidation sale" site for 2017 178s over the weekend, they advertised 15,600. At a recent RV Show, they were closer to the price you posted. 100% agree, you should buy as close to home as possible within reason.

I just bought a new 2017 178 from a dealer in walcott iowa for 14699 total. I found it on ebay and they have the lowest prices that i have found. It is the green model and comes with all options including the tent awning. I found a shipper to tow it to me for 700. I live in Pueblo CO and that is 950 miles from Walcott IA.
Why are there a lot of comments about buying locally? Does it have something to do with the warranty?
I wonder what the difference is btw the blue model and the green model besides the awning.
