Congratulations on your purchase Newman.  Yosemite is beautiful. We are anxious to get our Pod out for a shake-down soon also. We went to Walmart today for some essentials. I won't pick our 179 for a week or so. I'm having them install two 6 volt deep cycle golf cart batts.  I figured I better have them do it now or I will most likely procrastinate...lol
I'm still thinking about a slide topper but I will wait for a while..
Good luck with yours.

Hi Steve,  Congrats on your new 179.  Looks like we both bought a 179 on the same day.  Like you, we haven't picked ours up yet but hopefully we'll get it later this week. We've got reservations in Yosemite in April and I'm hoping we can get at least one local shake-down trip in before then.  In the past week I've gotten a lot of help from subscribers on this site.  Hope you find it helpful also.

You can get quite a bit of RV gear at WM.

Something we consider a necessity is a shelf fence:

https://www.amazon.com/Camco-44093-Double-Cupboard-Bar/dp/B0006IX7X8/ref=sr_1_5?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1484588788&sr=1-5&keywords=camco+bar

We use them in the fridge and in the pantry of our 179 to keep things from moving around and spilling out when we open the door.

Congratulations! Most of what you NEED can be purchased at Walmart, if you choose.

1. Dump hose
2. Black tank chemical (I use the liquid "orange" type)
3. A WHITE fresh water hose (for potable water)
4. Wheel chocks

Use the WHITE potable water hose ONLY for hook up to city water and/or filling the fresh water tank. Use a "regular" garden hose for black tank flushing, etc.

As mentioned, you'll kind of figure out what you need and want, as you go. A good "test" is to camp in your driveway or yard for a night or two. One thing that I recommend is a small first aid kit...it comes in handy.
