Topic: New to the board Posted: 04 Jan 2017 at 3:45pm |
Hi all, I just purchased a 178 and I could not be happier. I can not wait to get back in it already after my first trip during xmas. I have a few questions and looking for ideas, shelves... how strong are the panels on the inside of the pods to screw in shelves ? I would like to add some in the kitchen area and over the bed for clothing. Any ideas or suggestions ? Thanks JS•

js555,
I have a 178, give me couple days I will send pics of my shelf mods. Weather turning slightly nasty in area. I added rear shelf over bed and two front corner shelves with clothes rod over dinette.

Thank you guys ! I am so happy to have bought one of these. The dogs love it as well... and man do they love to cuddle up in that bed ! M.Carter I look forward to seeing your pictures and ideas. Mostly worried about the type of screw to use without going through causing leaks yet making it strong enough.
Cheers

Always chock before you release it from tow vehicle. If there is the slightest incline it will roll that direction. I have wife apply brake from tow vehicle until I am chocked and in some cases have leveling jacks down, the last think I pull from tow vehicle is the electrics plug.

Nice unit! That was the first thing I noticed (after the dogs) was that the wheels weren't chocked. First thing we do upon setting up is to level side to side or wheel to wheel. Once that is accomplished we chock both wheels so there is no chance of rolling. Then we disconnect from the TV. Since we boondock quite a bit we often have uneven ground to work with. Chocking is a necessity for us.
