Also joining the growing legion of R-pod owners. 2017 1/2 178 is on order! We can't wait to take a trip to warmer temps come March when the winter starts to wear on us up here in Michigan.

I'm sad when I see that some have only used their PODs a few times. We find it necessary to schedule ahead. My husband is off during the school holidays and I am flexible. He also goes during the slow periods at his other job end of fiscal year and holidays. Thus we go for a 7 day every July and 11 days the end of December. Otherwise it is slow on Friday and Monday we take long weekends during the summer/fall.   We enjoy the POD much better than camping and less expensive than staying in hotels. Have fun

Greetings Ron,

We have towed our 177 from Michigan once along US-2 all the way to Glacier NP, 2x to RMNP in Colorado and throughout some of the Rockies along various off-roads that were rather steep.  The pod towed nicely behind our (at the time) '08 Explorer and that was with a 4.0 L V-6 so you will have plenty of power with your PU.  Enjoy your retirement and enjoy your travels.

Hey Ron,
Congratulations on the Pod. Where did u buy it. I'll be looking to buy within a year. I know it's a ways out but I like to research. Lol. I live in fargo and work into Minneapolis all the time. Just trying to find a good dealer.
Your tow vechile will be great. I've never towed a pod but I've had 3 1500'silverdos. Great pickup.

Just wondering what your experience was on the dealer hunt.
Thank you
Patrick 👍🏼

Welcome and congrats on your new Pod. I live on the edge on the Canadian Rockies, and while we only have had our pod out a few times. It's been out in the mountains or in the foot hills. You will have no problem with the tow vehicle you have, if that was your concern. On one of the biggest hills on the Trans. Can. Hwy. between Calgary and Banff I was able to maintain 100 km/hr (60 mph) and not break 4000 rpm. Once into the mountains and National parks (up here in Canada anyway) The speed limit drops and becomes a single lane Hwy. and at that point it's an average 2500 rpm, just cruising along.
As a last note your interstates Highways down through the American Rockies are much better. I haven't towed on them but have made my way down to Moab a few times. Hope this helps.
