New Roadtrek SS Agile and new to this forum. Hi to all. My Agile came with a High Pointe convection microwave grill unit. The manual identifies the 3 legged round wire frame that came inside the oven as a"grill rack" but does not reference or describe it's use at all. I get that it can be reversed to have a high or low placement, but my question is this: Can this be used when using Grill settings G-2 or G-3 which use a combination of the oven grill element and microwave or only for G-1 which is 100% grill element?I've always thought that putting metal in a microwave was a big no-no. Am I missing something? The manual for this oven is woefully inadequate! Thanks for any guidance - I'd hate to start a forest fire on my maiden voyage!

When I use the oven part I remove the glass plate and plastic roller assembly (they are for the microwave) and put in the what you call the grill rack. It's used as a platform to put your baking dish on, so it clears the part that rotates the glass plate when the microwave is on. When the oven is on the microwave is off.

Thanks. Yes, true for the oven, but there's a grill function as well and the manual calls this a "grill rack". The grill has 3 settings: G-1 = 100% grill. G-2 = 36% microwave & 64% grill. G-3 = 55% microwave & 45% grill. It might be that the person who posted in 2014 had the model with oven/microwave only but no grill.

From page 7 in the owners manual
Materials to be avoided in microwave oven
Metal or metal trimmed utensils
Metal shields the food from microwave energy. Metal trim may cause arcing.

This didn't make it in my previous post.

Also, you should leave the glass turntable in the oven for all modes of cooking.
