We went to the Pod in the Pines Event at Burney Falls State Park last weekend and so I finally got to try out the third pole I added to my awning and it made a big difference. I had seen a picture that someone had posted with their awing with 3 poles. I had to mess around with the pole heights because it was raining off and on the whole time we were there. If the center pole is all the way up and the outer poles were at their lowest point the rain would run off and I had no pooling water.

Nice awning. How do you have the tarp connected to the RPod? I have just begun to make my own from a 9 foot flexible tent pole on the RDome connector part. The tent pole will go through a sleeve on the tarp and then thread through the "C" holder along the edge of the pod. Will post pictures from this weekend if it actually works for me

"Nice awning. How do you have the tarp connected to the RPod?" There are some close-up pictures at the bottom of this post showing the rope sewn in to the tarp and then ran thru the rail

Nice job. My mods details the awning I just finished. Mine used a rope sewn into one side of the fabric. That slides into the rail. i used the same method with a smaller rope for the slide-out cover I made. What kind of tarp material did you use?
Edit: I just saw the answer in your post that was not there when I started typing. ![]() |

I found bolts that heads would slide thru the channel and put them in each tarp hole. I use a rod with L shape hook on end from my other trailers awning to pull thru channel if bolt heads snags. I had old adjustable tent poles that I use for other side and one pole in first hole away from trailer by the door for opening clearance. I use this if staying for less than a week. Otherwise I put up the dome if staying in one place for a week or more. The dome came with our trailer when I bought it used otherwise I probably would not buy one.

Nice work on awning. We built an extra awning for over night stays while traveling. We use the dome most of the time. Where did you get the tire cover?

Any pics on this one with the bolt heads. Unfortunately I don't own a sewing machine or zipper foot. Own the tarp and poles though. Is the dome that difficult? seems no one uses it.
