Topic: New From Southeast Michigan Posted: 14 Apr 2016 at 10:05am |
Last summer we took our grandkids tent camping in Northern Michigan. After 40+ years camping, backpacking and crawling in and out of a tent we decided that we’ve had enough. So this past winter we decided it was time to move up to a trailer.
Here’s another shoutout for Bob Labadie at Labadie RV in Napoleon, OH. Great deal. Wonderful folks. Terrific service. They delivered our 178 about a month ago but we haven’t had a chance to get out and try it yet. First we needed a tow vehicle. Then we had to get the brake controller installed, plus all the necessary accessories. And of course the weather here hasn’t been cooperative.
But it hasn’t been a complete waste of time. I want to thank you all for letting me hang out here while looking over your shoulders. I’ve had a great time incorporating many of your good ideas for mods to our pod. Looking out the window now I have maybe 2 more days to work before I have to stop and start getting the lawnmower ready. Arrrggghhh ………
We are looking forward to our first r-Pod adventure.

Looking forward to mowing grass as a golf course superintendent in northern Michigan overlooking 54 holes. Still looking at snow, BUT we did get up to 50 degrees today and hopefully mid to upper 50's tomorrow, enough to get most of the snow to melt I hope. Great purchase, bet you are excited to get that shakedown trip taken soon with your new pod. Enjoy God's great outdoors!

Welcome, we are also from southeast Michigan, LaSalle to be exact. Bought our 179 at LaBadie's also. Brought her home last week but, I have been so busy playing catch up in our big yard we have yet to do anything but look at her.
That will change soon.

Hey Dave, thanks. I saw from some of your earlier posts that you folks were just up the road from us. I'm sure we'll bump into each other some day down the road. Have to stop with the mods today. Finally warming up so I can't put off this yardwork any longer.

I see you are in Erie. By any chance do you live just off the corner of an intersection of two of our main roads in the county? The northwest corner?
If so, we drive through there numerous times per week and I had noticed the front of an Rpod parked there recently.
We will need to meet up in the future and compare Rpod notes and mods.

Yup, that's us. We're not too hard to miss. I'd love to share ideas and stories any time. I haven't had it out at all yet so hoping to drive to the high school to test it out.
