Those of you that use tables as beds, are they built well enough for a 170 lb person to use it. Will it hold up to repeated use as a bed?

I have shared the dinette with Dakota, our big dog. I am about 220, he was a bit more then half that.

I'm not sure how much I should "read into" this post??? Is it sort of like "being in the doghouse"? Maybe I should just stay quiet.

LOL. I reinforced ours with 1x2s around the whole table opening. Then ran 1x2 supports at the corners down to the floor. My wife and I sleep there and use the tent space on the 172T for storage when it cools down. Much warmer. I never noticed any issues with stability of the table previously, but feel better with the reinforcement and it was a simple mod.

I am also considering the R180 and that has the smaller dinette table but looks to be the same mechanical device as the larger table.

Naw.. the first few trips, we tried to get his big butt to sleep up there.. Thought maybe if I was on it he would be more comfortable.. He never did take to it, so those first few years of podding we slept with a 110 pound and 80 pound dog, on the floor. People mumble about getting out of the crack with a partner.. try doing that AND having almost nowhere on the floor safe to put your feet.. LOL

I do miss my big dog..

In looking at the picture, how could you NOT miss him/her?
I have a similar situation with Dixie. When I made my own dinette, I made it in such a way that she could have her bed/sleep under the table.
She won't do it....got to be in the 2' floor space right below my bed.
A small price to pay for such devoted friends.
