We have been searching for an r-pod high and low! Finally found the perfect (used) one. We should be finalizing the purchase by the weekend. Any advice on things we should check that might not be obvious before buying??? We can't wait to join the r-pod world and love all the info on these forums. Sorry if i've posted in the wrong place. I've never belonged to a forum so a bit new to this.

Congratulations! We also have the 178!

Just look to make sure the seal has been maintained on anything that penetrates or exits the skin of the trailer. If you do find the seal is cracking here an there, check further for water damage if no water damage is evident then buy and reseal everything ASAP. Keeping the camper seal up to snuff is considered general maintenance that should be done at least twice a year. Good luck! Have Fun!

Agree with Podster, especially have a good eye up top where you have the seal/caulk around your A/C unit, fantastic fan, and omni directional antenna.  Would be nice if the party selling you their 178 would have the fridge on (so you know it works and cools).  Try the furnace with the propane on, same for the fridge and check to see that the hot water heater functions as well (110 as well as propane).  Welcome to the group and congratulations on your purchase!

Awesome!!! Thanks for all these pointers! I am going to check all those things! We have been searching for a used one for a while. Can't wait to start taking it out. I'll definitely make sure it's running too so we can turn on all appliances.
