"They" is Dometic, and the "dome" was not designed for pods, it was co-opted from the pop-up world. At least one owner has added a piece in by sewing. Most owners just live with the fact that it is not a "perfect fit"...

Well found out what was my problem with my dome it is my axle risers. Any ideas on how to get the side close to the rv able to touch the ground. Seems when they designed this that didn't think it all the way thru.

Better suction cups work wonders. Powerlock is a good brand and is inexpensive.

North of 49 we have Lee Valley stores. They have what I call.. Christmas tree... sucktion cups. The gromments on the dome are to small for the "arms" of the sucktion cups, so we use small bungee cords to make the connection. We found this from Debbie and Donna. I really like this as you have more lee way when sticking the sucktion cups to the pod. ALSO the Lee Valley sucktion cups WORK VERY WELL. Try going on line for Lee Valley to find the sucktion cups, you will be able to identify them right away. I also tried the sucktion cups from Lowes but found the Lee Valley sucktion cups to be far better.

No, just the way they are.

Our 178 has axle risers which prevent the dome from touching on the camper side. this may or may not be your situation.

Hmm, we have the 178 as well, for the most part, one size does fit all with one exception. I believer Forest River recently started to offer a dome with longer walls, but basically for the 179. I think it was the bigger backside on the 179 that stretched it and kept it from a preferred fit. Our dome fits just fine on the 178. If you can post some pics, maybe we can help troubleshoot why it's not fitting properly.
