Big smile Just back from a four night outing in my new 179 at an astronomy event.  I am happy to report that all of my systems seemed to work as they should including the R-Dome.

Ying YangThe fridge worked well on propane, but admittedly, the daytime highs were in the low 80s.  I noticed that half of the upper vent is blocked by the outside wall of the trailer.  In other words, the hole that was cut out is only half as tall as the vent.  I would guess these must all be cut with some pattern, and would assume this is intentional???  Anyone else noticed this? Anyone else opened the vent up fully and seen an improvement in performance?

Thanks in advance for any opinions!

That is intentional and confirmed by Forest River to be so.

It's part of the air flow design to move air over the fins to cool them and then pull it out of the top vent.

It was the Almost Heaven Star Party in central West Virginia.  It is near Spruce Knob at The Mountain Institute and put on by NOVAC (Northern Virginia Astronomy Club).  Nearest "settlement" is Circleview, WV.  It's a very nice location with VERy dark skies...when the weather cooperates!
