Topic: NEW PODDER W/QUESTION Posted: 26 Jun 2015 at 5:15pm |
Picking up 179 in a week or so, I am thinking about getting Progressive EMS/SURGE, Question is where should I mount it.
Thanks

179 owners seem to choose the bottom of the pantry, right above the power distribution center.

I have new 179 here and trying to install a 12V receptacle. under the bed I found a pair (green and white) wires going to running lights I guess, could I connect wires to these and run the receptacle ?
I want receptacle for 12V fan.
I also want to install a EMS and my question is do I have to cut the bottom out of the pantry to get to power distribution supply line ? Any help will be appreciated.

you would have to have your lights on in your tow vehicle if you hook to those wires!!! Moe

Moe Thanks for the answer, I will keep looking for a "full time" wire.

I would guess that the power to the radio is "full time." Likewise power to the lamp over the tongue and the outdoor light. Then, too, it would be simple to run wire from the fuse box, you could even make a new circuit.
