I haven't seen a thread or any posts about using one of the hand truck type "dollies" (that No Tool/HF sell) to move a Pod around in tight spaces.
I'm storing my 171 in a warehouse (with a level concrete surface) but it's difficult to back it in with my TV and get it situated exactly the way I want. Has anyone used such? I'm looking at a 3 wheeler dolly with 1,000 lb tongue wgt.

I have never used one, but have seen them at some of the RV dealerships around. I had moved our 171 by hand into a couple of spots but haven't tried it yet with our 179. They look really handy!

Fred,
Doesn't attachment of that dolly interfere with the mounting of the torsion bar brackets? Bob |

I have the Trailer Valet installed on my 179 & it does not interfere with the brackets on my E 2 WDH, but that may not be the case with other brands of WDH.

I picked up the "Ultra - Tow, Extreme - Duty Adjustable" currently on sale for $179.95 at Northern Tool. It's supposed to handle a tongue wgt. of up to 1,000 lbs. Used it yesterday to park my 171 in storage on a CONCRETE, LEVEL surface.
It worked really well but I would emphasize that the surface needs to be smooth and perfectly level. It would be difficult to impossible for one person to hold back the wgt. of the TT if the surface wasn't level. |

My friend uses one of those
Trailer Valet Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover - Topwind - 15" Lift - 500 lbto move his 34' trimaran around the yard. Works pretty well but hangs down a bit even when turned horizontal. Check that out. |

I use a hand push trailer dolly from Northern Tools to push my rpod into my storage space (concrete and level). My spouse directs me so I don't crash into a neighbor. Only problem experienced is a need to repack bearings. Ace hardware does it for $10.
