I'm thinking of installing mud flaps in the manner that one podster did (see pic below).  But, I've been scratching my head, trying to figure out how it was done, without moving the fender light writing.Anyone out there have instructions or (better yet) pictures of how it is done?

I wonder if those 3 phillips head screws/bolts are a key?  Looks like the fender is metal - the ones on my 179 are plastic.  It looks like the flap has been narrowed at the top.  On mine, the clearance with the tire is fairly close.  One would need a fairly stiff flap to keep the tread on the tire from catching on the bottom and flipping the flap up backwards and maybe tearing off the fender.

I put a spacer between the mudflap and the fender, and a strip of aluminium flatbar over the mudflap. By bending the flatbar I can change the angle of the flap.

If you want something done right, do it yourself.

Very cool.  What a great solution not only to giving you ability to adjust the mudflap's angle of attack, but also to prevent the chances - as expressed by one podster - of the flap being sucked into the tire and ripping off the fender.  After my sewage hose mod, bolted as it was to the undercarriage of my old pod, came loose and dragged the full length of the Salt Lake Expressway at rush hour resulting in my having to risk my life amputating the sewage hose alongside the freeway, I am wary of mods gone bad.LOL
