Nice to know! I've had the microwave door bounce open, and the coffee pot lid explode, so have been wary. Not off road mind you, but on California's great highways. We are going to do the above the bed shelf with baskets this winter, so will see how that goes.

I plan to use them in transit for smaller stuff. They'll be more useful when parked, but I've felt comfortable using a shelf with a rail after watching the performance of the factory installed railing above the fridge. I was surprised how everything we put up there, stayed up there, so I expect I'll have similar performance from these shelves.

unless you put something on them that will fall out, no reason not to use while in transit. We have not ever had an issue. |

So I assume these shelves cannot be used in transit, only once parked?

Following others lead from this forum/thread I started with one shelf on my 178 over the bed, between the shower and end. It escalated from there and I couldn't quit until I had installed 9 more. (I will admit, I've ordered a couple of small, ready-to-install, corner wire shelves for the bathroom. So I may not be cured yet. I'm just convincing myself I'm OK since I didn't spend hours making those).
Here's pictures, for any other addicts: (A note on the shelf over the door. I really wanted to use this space, but the clearance over the railing made it less useable. So I cut the railing, put on hinges, and added magnets to secure it when its' in place but easy to pull down to get to the goods.) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
