A friend is looking to sell his 2009 151 R-Pod. He last winterized it in 2012 and it has sat ever since. I'm planning on taking it to the local dealer and having them give it a 40 point inspection to make sure everything is still in working order. Is there anything I need to specifically look at or any notorious problems I should address before hand? The decals are pealing, which I can tell is a common problem, but beyond that, it looks in great condition.

Also, is there any other place that sells the R Dome besides the dealer? The dealer wants $650 but it seems a little steep! Anyone selling one by chance?

Hoping it all works out and we're a new owner of a R-Pod within the week!!

Just checking for water damage would be your only real thing to be certain to check for.

As long as all the appliances fire on all the modes and all the switches and dohickeys work you're pretty much just looking again for possible water entry points that have occurred over the years.

As far as a dome, I doubt the dealer has the dome sitting around that would with a 2009 151 any longer.  The domes for those units have a smaller attachment point than the current domes and also back then they used smaller domes because of how small the 15x models were.

Today a new dome from the dealer would be a 13' model with a large keder.

You might have the best luck finding a true fit dome directly from Forest River.  It would for sure cost less than what you dealer is saying and they might in fact still have the old Rdomes in their storage!

Rodent damage could be a problem depending on where and how it was stored.

Call Forest River directly for a dome.  I ordered mine for $535 plus tax & shipping.

I have had a 09 151 for a couple of years, check water heater anode rod, the tires might be starting to weather check, I have done a few mods, one of which is a awning to use in addition to the dome. Any question you can contact me. I Don't think their are very many 151's on here
