My rp177 2011 has a soft area. How do I fix it?

Hello George,

That depends. One way is to add a support under that area. On our former 179, I got some square stock and had ends welded on. It was just wide enough to fit between the frame sides and press up against the floor from underneath. That worked quite well. I am not sure if pictures of my fix are still on the forum, but others have done likewise. You may be able to search the forum with Google or use the advanced search function to find those topics.

George:  Having the same issue with my 2012 177.  I have a different thread in the postings.  I have torn the floor out to the base (where I can see the support beams and styrofoam.  Lots of softness and some rot.  Whats strange is that its only in the "living space"; meaning not under bench seats, rear storage area, hot water heater area, etc.  I still havent found any leaks, and sometimes wonder if it came from underneath.  Its only soft/rotten where heat would have primarily gotten to.  My plan is to wait for some good spring hard rains and see if I can find any breaches.  Right now my plan is to lay a subfloor and put new vinyl laminate down on top of that.  Not sure if thats the right procedure or not.  This pod may just end up trash!!!!  I actually wiuldnt mind selling it (and would be 100% completely transparent with the issues); not sure whats its worth in this condition.  Jon
