I'm wondering if there's a manual override on the slide on my 2014 178 HRE. Wanting to be prepared for anything, I like to know BEFORE I have a problem. Can't find anywhere to hand-crank it if I need to. I tried doing some research on maintenance etc. and most of the info refers to a Schwintek slide. Mine says "Venture" on the motor. Same company? Any info or suggestions are welcome!

We have a 2012 177 pod.. Almost the same lay out. To manually move your slide take the cover off underneath the kitchen area just to the left of the fridge. There you will see head of a screw, I believe it is the same size as the stabilizer jack screw heads. It is in a tight area, so I bought a wrench that will work in that small area. We bought our trailer new in 2012, so far... fingers crossed we've never had to do anything manually with our slide.... Good luck with yours also.

Thanks, Ron. I'll get the right size socket so I have room to maneuver. I've had a 5th wheel and a truck camper with slides and never had a problem with them either. I'm assuming our (yours and my) luck will hold. I'm having so much fun with this little Pod!

Thank's for the info. on the screw for the slide. I made sure I could get in there with a drill and socket.
Have you ever had any problems with your floor sagging (mostly in the slideout area) on the outside of the trailer frame. I have a 2011 177 and had to have specially made outriggers installed as the floor had begun to sag when I purchased in 2023.

We purchased our 177 back in January 2011 and you are the first person I have ever heard having floor sag on a 177; the slide is not that large, but I guess anything is possible. One thing I would suggest you check out is look underneath the slide out area on your 177, where the black rubberized area is. Look for scuffing or wear where the 3 rollers make contact as it goes out or comes back in. If you see that, get some penetrant and spray on both sides of those rollers, you will have to fold the rubber back to see the rollers. Over the years I have seen a lot of cases where the rollers have froze and have worn the rubber away all the way to where it rubs on the luan underneath - not a pretty sight.
