Mine doesn't have that.But, the first thing would be to hook up to power and turn it on and see what happens.  Look, particularly, for outside lights that come on.

2016 172 has a switch just inside the door for the "porch" light. It's not near the floor though.

I don't know the answer regardless, but we still need more info.  What year model is your 178?  I'm guessing your Pod is used and that this is something custom that the previous owner installed, maybe because that was the only place he could access behind the paneling.  If it's a new Pod it's not that, of course.

+1. I don't think there is a switch from the factory at the floor level near the door. The breaker and fuse panel is located there, that's about it.  Posting a picture might help.

I have a 2015 178. There is no switch at floor level inside entrance door. Was it added?
