Has anyone had any experience with HepvO waterless traps? They look like they would be a good way to eliminate any possibility of tank fumes coming up through a dry shower or sink trap. They also look like they would save some space. |

From what I have seen about them, they should never need to be snaked or plunged.

interesting alternative, thanks for sharing. If you needed to snake the lines looks like you remove the device first.
If you use them can you eliminate the gray water system through the roof vent? From what I read sounds like yes. Then also get a composting toilet with a through the wall vent. Clean roof!

From what I was reading, it would not eliminate the through the roof vent. Those exist to vent the fumes when water goes into the tank. Otherwise, the tank would build up pressure and prevent water flow into it. It would eliminate a vent that is common behind sinks that pulls air into the tank if there is a negative pressure situation in the tank. I've read about those sticking and allowing fumes into the RV.

My Camplite was built using one for the shower. It eliminates the vertical space required for a P-trap thereby allowing for a lower shower floor. So far, 6 years, no problem and I've not heard of anyone else having a problem. You still need the roof vent.
