mcarter, the cabinetry in most trailers would supply about an hour's worth of heat. Particle board and plastic film burns fast and you may not want to breathe the smoke.

Don't you need the battery to make the break away brake actuator work? A battery for that is essential. As for the rest, you can use battery or kerosene lanterns, and forego the water pump and other conveniences, but if you're going to do that, why bother with lugging a trailer along for your camping. Use a tent and a Prius and get there practically free.
