So, I just installed A Solera Slide_Topper awning on my 190 today and it looks great, however, I'm not confident in the "holding power" of the screws  that fasten the mounting brackets directly to the slide-out on each side.
This is what I mean. Each bracket has five screw holes and only one screw on the bracket to the rear of the slide-out actually grabs something solid in the wall. Once the spring tension was pulling on the brackets the bottom screws pulled from the wall just a bit. So, I'm wondering if it's possible to use some kind of anchors in these type of exterior walls. I'm quite familiar with screw anchors, but I'm not sure which kind would work best in these walls.

Yes, the make anchors for this application, but I have never used them. I always de-grease/clean the surface then use a adhesive caulk like 3M5200.

Also, you might want to go up in screw diameter and use a more agressive thread pitch. I recommend SS screw too, the ones that come with the awning eventually rust.

I don't suppose you recall which anchors are designed for this application? A service guy at the dealership here mentioned something about expanding rivets. I thought most rivets were expanding.

You only need to do a tiny amount of trimming right at the track opening.
