Check the load range on the ST tire or tires you’re getting. I would recommend load range D.

Yikes! Yes, I meant Hood River Edition. I don't doubt anyone's research, but here's what the specs decal reads (photo attached, you may have to zoom in to read)
I've decided to replace two tires with ST that have a "D" rating, as many have suggested. I'm reminded of an old commercial with the quote something like "...you can pay me know or pay me more later..." Call it $200 piece of mind. Thank you all for all the advice.

I think you will be happy with that decision.

When you only have one axle, you kinda want to try to remove as much risk as possible. If you suffer a blowout while driving, who knows what could happen. Even if the wheel well didn't get destroyed, who wants to sit on the side of the highway for 3 hours waiting for help.

+1. If you have a blowout on a single axle R-pod, about the first thing to go will be the little fender hanging out there.

My 2015 R-pod 178 Hood River edition also has the LT 235 x 75 x R15 tires. They are load range C and it's time to replace them.
JengaJack et al ... Was there in difference in the ride or control between the LT vs ST tires ?? Did you get the 235 tires or did you have to go to the 225 size ??

I have a 178 HRE and went with the Falken wildpeak at3w that have the same rating as the stock HRE R pod tires and I like the look.

About your question to bringing the pod to the garage. I'd do it myself in the drive-way. Jack up one side, take the tire off, replace temporarily with your spare tire. Then take your jack to the other side, jack up and remove 2nd tire. Leave jack in place until you get back with your newly installed tires on the rims.
