Hi guys, I'm looking at getting a new brake controller. I want something easy to adjust, so I assume a digital setting is easier. I also want one that is "self centering" ( It can be at any angle, and it will adjust itself to level) if that is such a thing. I'm looking at the Tekonsha 90195 P3 Electronic Brake Control. Anybody like/hate it???

I have a P2. It works fine for me and has all the features you're looking for. Not sure what the P3 does that the P2 doesn't.

P2 is good for Pod application, the P3 was recently upgraded and doesn't provide a lot for a single use brake system. If you had multiple tow requirements, like electric and then electric over hydraulic, maybe justified, but end of day only so much you can do with a single wire source to a trailer brake. IMHO.

Not that it matters for the rPod, but the P2 does do electric over hydraulic as well as straight electric, so I'm still puzzled by what the benefit is with the P3. Maybe its easier to switch between the two?

I have a P2 and it works great for the rpod. But I have three trailers and one is a car trailer, so am going to a P3 so I can preset each trailer. If you only have the rpod a P2 will be good.

I think they both do that. The displays are different. I had 2 P3s. Agree most popular is the P2.

I use the simple and cheap Tekonsha POD. Seems fitting, I guess, but I had it before I ever thought I'd be buying an r-pod.
It is a simple time-delay brake controller so it's not right for everyone, but works well with both of my trailers. It can be mounted at any angle or tilt, even upside down, 'hugging' the dash right above my knee. Less than $50 including the adapter harness.

Mjlrpod, does Nissan provide an OEM brake controller for your Frontier? Reason I ask is because the OEM one we have for our F-150 provides for numerous trailers, and remembers the settings for each one. When it detects a trailer is attached, it asks me which trailer, and I just select R-pod to get it to the correct settings.

We have the P3 and love it. We do not even think about it. Its just there and works. We bought the optional adapters for our two vehicles so we did not have to splice any wires. Just plug and go.

I have the Hopkins InSIGHT Flex-Mount brake controller. It is great in that one can mount the parts where the controller is out of the way, the manual control is in easy reach, and the display is visible. I've had one since December, 2015. It has been very reliable. I had it first in a 2016 Escape and had to install the wiring harness. I moved it to our current 2010 Frontier and just had to get the proper adapter harness. That was a lot easier.
