Hello everyone! We have a 2017.5 178 and have enjoyed the last 2 years of Podding.   I am new to this forum group, however have been on Facebook since we got our Pod.   We are hosting our 2nd Carolinas R-Pod Rally in September! I have posted it under the events forum.   Happy Podding!

Hello and welcome! We have a 2016 RP179 that we have enjoyed very much. Please give some more details on the September Carolinas R-Pod Rally. It sounds like something my wife and I would like to attend. I have thought about organizing a "Down East" rally, but haven't gotten farther than just thinking about it.

Hey StephenH I don't think "down east" means what you think it does.

Maine-iac here  :)

That said, NE Fl is close to part of the Carolinas maybe we can make it.  :)

The terms for areas of the County I use are Out West, Back East, Down South, and Up North.Wink

In NC, Down East refers to the coastal areas. North Carolina is "The Old North State" so I could have used that phrase instead.Regional terms might not carry the same meaning when used out of the region. Smile

People in California refer to our part as "Northern California", but I prefer to call it North California. The other half, I call Los Angeles.

Well now I guess I learned the name of where I live. No one around here calls Eastern NC "down east". We just call it Eastern NC or, if you're waay east, like I am, we call it the OBX. Some marketing folks over on the other (western) side of Pamlico Sound have taken to calling that area the Inner Banks, but that really hasn't caught on yet.
