Added a Camp Chef Everest stove to the traveling cooking toolbox this year. Very happy with it. Pic is from P.E.I a couple of weeks ago (New Glasgow Highlands). P.E.I. cobblers, couple of pounds of steamer clams and some bacon wrapped filets. Camping is hard!

2 years now with our GMG Davy Crockett.. Best cooking device ever for camping. We have smoked, roasted, grilled and baked. Set it on the dinette bench in it's carrying bag no problem. We now use a DeWalt storage box with the bigger truck.

Even with my pickup it was a bit of a hassle. I bought the 18” Weber. The 22” was more than I needed. Just easier to clean. I found the 18” works just fine. I can still smoke meat. It fits easily in the bed of my truck standing up. It is not a tall grill. I set it on the end of the picnic table to grill.
When I pulled with my Unlimited Jeep I had to lay the seat down to take the 22” grill. It is tall. Just had to make sure I got all the ash out or it ended up in the Jeep. Can you lay your seats down in your SUV? That would be the only thing I know of. Not sure it will go through the door of Pod. Sorry that’s not a lot of help. |

I know this is an old post, but how do you transport your Kettle. I would love to pack mine along, but I tow with an SUV. Would love to take my Weber Smokey Mountain, but I think that may be too much hassle. Kettle are the most bang for your buck. I can cook anything on it. Slow and Sear is also a nice addition to the grill.

We take our Weber 22" grill. I have learned from others how to slow smoke meat with it. It uses charcoal briquettes.

The hardest part is grinding off the single tank holder. It was welded on to my pod. It's not hard, but the rest of the set up is just hooking things up. My dual tank holder is bolted on. I've had the automatic switch-over for a few years now and it works great. I forget how it works, actually. It just does. I have a different switch-over valve than Furpod, but otherwise my set up looks identical.

Someone please show how your pod is set up for dual propane tanks! Ours came with only a single tank.

We have a Green Mountain smoker, Dave Crocket. Loved it when we had our 35’ fifth wheel. Taken it with our new Rpod. Great to smoke thick sliced bacon, ribs, chicken etc. we also smoke pizza and cook steaks on it. It can be either 12v or 110. Highly recommended!
