Has anyone found a good cover for the lower screen of the door that is dog proof but still allows for ventilation?  Would love to find one that is able to insert in track instead of drilling into door.

My buddy used stainless steel "expanded metal" grating.

Any idea where one can find the expanded metal these days? I have been looking for months with no luck.

I've ordered a lot of copper sheet from onlinemetals.com over the last few years for various projects, and have been very satisfied. Here's a link to their web site showing "perforated stainless sheet".  Not exactly the expanded metal I was talking about, but it should get you started.

Sailor you must have a favorite list 2 miles long.  Your better then Google or YahooLOL.  Missed you and SWMBO at ERUOuch, maybe next year.

Pepperpod ( I think) Velcroed plastic glass ( i know that's not the right name, but can't think of it) to her screen door top and bottom to let light in when the A/C was on.  I took measurements today so I could try it, because I'm going to take the big dog with me on this next trip.  Let you know.

You're welcome. It's refreshing to be told I'm full of "knowledge" instead of what I usually hear ...

We put plexiglass on the bottom only that way we get fresh air from the top when we are not using the air.  we used small screws to hold it in place.

I think you're looking for plexiglass or acrylic.

Plexiglass was the word I was looking for.  Well I'm sorry to say that my attempt was a failure.  The plexiglass can be cut to fit inside the grooves, but in this case I cut a little large so it would bow out (inward).  Hercules was not happy we left him in the r-pod, not only did he take the Plexiglass out of the door,  also torn up the screen.  I can replace the screen (no big deal) and take another cut on the Plexiglass so it has a better fit.

The whole reason we didn't take him on the bike ride, was because he was showing signs of his hips hurting (i.e. couldn't jump into the truck or get up into the r-pod.  Had to be carried)  Well he was able to jump up on the sofa and take a couple of bites out of the back curtain.

This is normally my best behaved dog, something must have really got to him.  So if he is to go with camping again, I'll have to bring him a kennel for times he might be alone in the R-pod.
