Cool! We just bought our 180 and took a one-night maiden voyage with it last weekend. Our four dachshunds were a little confused but I think they'll take to it right away. Puppies LOVE to come with. I couldn't dream of traveling without them. We used to take them in the tent trailer but my wife was always worried they would fall between the canvas and the bed during the night and fall out on the ground. The rPod is so much nicer!

Last year we did the same thing. Our Golden Retriever turned 15 and was slowing down quite a bit. We still wanted to vacation with him, so we purchased an RPod 177 to bring him to different places. We had some memorable times with him. Enjoy your time camping with with your dog!

+1 - Our dog doesn't stay home and we board him seldom, the RV provides us a space for him versus trying to find lodging that will take him :)

With our aging Lab who has arthritis who wants to still be involved in our travels purchasing a camper was a logical choice for us. It may seem crazy to some but not to us. Any way looking to gain as many tips and advice from the r-pod community here.

If it is crazy, then I must be too! Back in 2005, I had a 1/2 ton GMC Sierra truck. My previous German Shepherd was aging and could no longer jump up into the cab. I got rid of the truck and bought a 2005 Dodge Caravan. I removed all of the seating, except for the driver and passenger bucket seats. Being a much lower vehicle, with wide side doors made travelling possible. I also bought a popup camper that the Caravan would tow easily.

Also, welcome to the Forum!
The 179 seems to be one of the more popular floor plans.

Not crazy at all. Pets are family as far as I'm concerned. I think you'll find that everyone else here traveling with pets feels the same way.

Welcome!
