Hi Everyone
Just joined this group, been a pod owner since 2010.  First pod was a 171, traded it for a 179 in 2015.  So just starting my forth season with this one.   I'm 78, single, had some health issues but doing  reasonably well now.  Other hobbies are Ham radio, reading, music, woodworking.  I live in southern Minn. and travel mainly in the 5 state area around MN.  I enjoy the State Parks and attend Steam and antique tractor and machine Bonsai and have 1 indoor tree so far.   Hope everyone has an enjoyable summer.  After a brutal winter here I'm looking forward to some warm weather.

Welcome crankster.  Do you ever make it to the Buckley Steam and Antique Tractor Show?  Lots of neat things to see, it is a pretty large event just south of Traverse City, Michigan.

Greetings
I have not been to that show.   I go to Rollag MN  which covers about 600 acres and has 100's of stationary and portable steam and gas engines plus a train.  Around 1000 campers are there and crowds reach 30,000 or more.   It's a 4 day show Labor day weekend.

Welcome!

QRZ.com - look up WA9DU/P and you will see my portable setup. The antenna is hard to see but, it is a "Hamstick" dipole. The pictures are from my 2016 National Parks on the Air activation of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (I was in the Cosby campground).

Hi to all the hams!
My Call is KR0K,  I'm an active VE with 2 groups, ARRL member and active in our local club.  For a portable I have a CrankIR  which works 80M to 2 M.  It Takes about 15 minutes to set up and tune.  My radio is an Icom 7100 all mode.  73's

Welcome Crankster! Glad you found your way here, both for your sake and ours. Earlier this week my guy and I met an RPodder from Washington who had his ham antenna on his truck. It appeared to be a very well done setup. Getting licensed is still on my "now that I'm retired & can focus on it" list. Our community has several hams, classes, tons of support, etc. Oh yeah - we have a 179 too and really love it.

Welcome!

Pretty good old tractor and steam expo in Rollag Mn every fall.

We are just a bit west of there across the Red River in Fargo ND.
There are some pretty good state parks in Minnesota. My wife and I hope to explore a few this summer.
