I'll add that you shouldn't even worry about emptying the black tank after every trip. It takes a long time to fill a 30-gallon black tank and the sloshing of the extra volume over the extra miles will help that much more with dissolving solids. The gray tank is another matter: we try to empty it every chance we get (without going out of the way) because it will fill rather quickly when using the shower and washing dishes. Many Podders will wash dishes in a pan within the sink and then dump the dishwater into the toilet so that it doesn't take up space in the gray tank. |

And do searches here on the forum....most of your questions have probably already been asked by other newbies......like me! But don't be afraid to ask, either. Lots of good, helpful people here.

Great to have you on the forum. Welcome! Hope you make a lot of great memories with your kiddos as you travel across this grand and blessed country. As David has already stated, if you have questions fire away, there are a lot of experienced campers and podders around, just ready to be helpful. We have been helped on many occasions since joining back in 2012.

Welcome to the forum! ![]() My tip for new owners - use it and enjoy it. You'll learn as you go. If you have any questions, just post them and several will likely respond. As far as the black tank, don't sweat it. My attitude is: We are not working on the warp drive, Scottie. It's just a waste tank. I think the most important thing is to have MUCH more liquid than solids. If need be, add extra water prior to dumping. The liquid flushes/carries the solids out of the tank. |

We are the Hand family and just put $300 down on an R-pod 176. We pick it up on Saturday.
We are so excited about the bunk beds. We have a boy and a girl (5 & 2) and hope this will be our camper for years to come. Any tips for the new owners? This is our third camper. Our first was an 8 ft box pop-up. Our second was an A-frame. This is our first camper with a bathroom. Totally new to all go the black tank issues. Thank you!
