The signature line isn't going anywhere. The question is: Do we want to exempt the signature line from the established prohibited subject matters?

  David keep calm take deep breaths and take Dixie for a long walk. It will all be over soon no one is going to have hurt feelings as far as I can see. Not having religious quotes or scriptures isn't going to bring a end to this camping forum. If people want to read the bible there are many bible books around. Keep everything camping related  I think that would include tow vehicles and pets, and past and present campers. Thank you for your volunteering to moderate this forum you are doing a great job! As this topic has shown it is not a easy task. I am sure many if not all appreciate the work you are doing.   David and Danette

Dang.

Prizing clarity in writing, I am chagrined to find that I have failed to communicate successfully.

What I meant to say is, I think all of us should feel free to put anything into the signature line that is descriptive of us as individuals, including personally preferred car brands, dog breeds or shoes. 

Prosyletizing anything, whether religions, guns, dog breeds, or cars, should be 'out', where to prosyletize is defined as - "to advocate or promote a belief or course of action to others."

Unfortunately, there will always be grey areas giving Administrators like you grey hairs, that's life. A sense of humor helps.

You're doing a fine job.

Diversity IS good.

Once again I say this whole thing is just silly.

Remove a quote in the signature that comes from a book. Religious or not.. Really? And it's not really even a Quote but a reference..

I for one am very dis-appointed to see this as even a discussion...

Oh yes, I am offended by the WC Field's quote I saw in this discussion.. Should be removed..
