In that case, I would ask an administrator to close the topic. I see at the top that there is a "Topic Options" button. I don't know if it allows the creator of a topic to close it. It does allow one to "Un-Watch" the topic. Here is where an administrator would need to respond as to what can be done about topics like the for sale ones where once the item is sold, there is no further need for responses, and no real need to have it available for searching.

Well taken. But say you post an R-pod for sale. Once it sells, that's it!

Yes.. very handy actually.. say you get the answer to your a/c question. Next month someone else searches for their a/c problem.. and BANG there is the answer.. :)

Happens every day.

Unless you ask an administrator to do something about it, yes. Think of the forum as having an archive of old posts that are searchable. You may have had your question answered, but others may have the same question. If a search is executed, someone may find the answer to a question without having to start a new message thread. That is one of the first things I do before starting a new message thread. I don't think any problems I may have had with our RP-179 are unique.

Do you see the "Post Options" icon? Click on that. If nobody has replied to or quoted your post, you will be able to select and option to delete it. Otherwise, your options will be limited. You can edit it.but not delete it.
