Welcome youngsters to the forum!  Towing with a hemi; you probably won't even know you have a pod behind you.  As far as sway control, we tow with an Explorer which is a much shorter wheelbase than your pickup.  All we have ever used since we purchased our 177 back in January 2011 is a sway bar link.  No problems or issues with using only that.

Hello from Bellville, Texas 77418.
We are (my nickname), "Clay"and my wife Georgia and we live in rural Bellville, TX. We purchased a 2014 Forrest River R-Pod 172 on March 2, 2017 and have only used it one time to date, and that was quite an experience after our camping in our previously owned 27 foot Nomad. But at 76/73 years old each, we enjoyed our time on the maiden & short "shakedown" adventure. We did learn a lot about the R-Pod experience.
We are now in the process of compacting/downsizing our camping needs to accommodate the lack of storage with the r-pod.
While waiting for our account here to be activated I scoured through a lot of good information here in this forum that is proving to be very helpful to gaining tips and other knowledge about the R-Pod camping including towing related to the sway factor.

BTW: Our registration RCRFish over at the site, http://www.rpodnation.com/ forum has yet to be activated.
