I sure hope to return and I've very happy u posted those photos, gorgeous. 😀 |
Man, that's my old stomping grounds too.. we backpacked all over from Pollock pines up to Grouse ridge on the far side of 80 for years.. Killed my first deer just a bit north of Ice House.. In fact it was camping trip up there a few years ago, after being gone a long time, that reminded us why we didn't really want our big TT anymore, and set us on the pod path..

Thanks CampCat glad you liked the pictures.
I've spent some but not a lot of time in the Union Valley / Ice House / Loon Lake area, I've been around up in there enough to know it sure is beautiful though.

Thanks everyone! Yes there are some beautiful boondocking spots up in the NorCal hills. I grew up in these mountains so I'm lucky enough to be familiar with quite a few of them too.

We love national forests and the chance for boondocking in them! We try to aim for them as we travel! This looks like a beautiful place!
Happy trails!

More boondocking in northern California's Plumas Nat'l Forest, this time at Rogers Cow Camp. No services, no fees, no host, few sites, few people.. just how we like it. Setup and the dog guarding the homestead. One of our favorite nearby swimming/fishing holes on the Middle Fork of the Feather River
