Hello, my wife and I just bought the 179 and have had it out twice so far. We love the bigger kitchen and more storage it offers. We went back and forth about the wet bath and are glad we decided on the 179. Enjoy!

Hey Wayne,

For my wife and I we went with the 180. Our reasoning was we would rather have the full bathroom and a smaller kitchen. Most of our cooking is still being done outside (BBQ) anyway. The full bathroom is a plus because of the extra small storage in there and not having to have our knees up around our shoulders... LOL ;)

Hi Folks.. My name is Wayne and my wife and I live in Cary, NC.. we are giving up motorcycling and plan to start camping.. we love the R-Pods (size, amenities, price) and have a choice now between a 2012 175 priced at $11,500 and a 2015 179 for $13,500.  Any recommendations between the 2, and anything on a used R-POD that we need to watch out for?  Both were used very little.  Appreciate any / all advice!

Welcome to the group! We are on our second r-pod a 179 really like the room from the slide out and the large kitchen space with storage. I agree the best method is to hit a dealership and hang out in each for a while, try out the beds etc and the answer will jump out at you.

Thx Stephen!  Agree w/ that.  I have asked both parties what would be needed to "hit the road".. one has everything included that I could ever think of (they are getting out of camping), and the other I would have the clean water hose (they are buying a smaller camper)..

I  compare some of this w/ my experience of buying a used Harley that was well equipped vs a new one that I spent thousands on getting it equipped the way I wanted. Of course, it took me awhile to find the used one that had most of what I liked...

Even with buying used, there is no guarantee that you would not need to purchase some of the items that you would have to purchase if you bought new. It would depend on what the seller would include or want to keep. I hope you find something suitable. This forum has been a great resource. I got a lot of ideas here.

I agree on the price piece.. my "hope" was to buy used and prevent the need to buy alot of the items that come w/ purchasing a new R-POD...

I am so new to this that I don't even know what to ask.

A 179 and a 175 are very different campers. Would be best to spend some time in both, get a feel for how you are going to use it.. I don't know about dealers in NC, but at $13.5.. you are only a couple hundred dollars off what a new pod costs.. with warranty.. and newness.. in our area, and at Couch's...
