Thanks for the quick response.  Our previous RPOD travels have been one nighters close to home.  We are going to the central mountains of Idaho for four or five days.  This will be the first multi night camping experience with my wife and our two dogs.  Should be interesting.  Will provide a post when I get back.

I'll answer in the order given.

1. Yes. it bypasses the tank. There are check-valves to do this.
2. The water from the tank gets sucked into the pump and then pressurizes the water lines in the R-Pod. The city water connection bypasses the tank and pump and pressurizes the water lines (including the hot water tank feed line if the valves are set correctly) so it is not an issue.
3. Either the pump or the city water pressure will do so. You don't need to do anything except turn the water pump switch on or off as appropriate depending upon which source you are using.
4. With full hookups, connect the gray water and leave the valve open. Before you leave, shut the gray water valve and allow some water to go into the gray tank (will be used later). Connect the hose to the black water tank and drain it. If possible, use the black water tank flush port to help clean everything out of the black tank. Please ensure that the black water tank is at least 2/3 full (add water if needed) to also help move everything out). When done, reconnect to the gray tank and use that to rinse out your hose. It will make it more pleasant to handle.

Part 2: You will need to fill the fresh water tank manually as there is no connection between it and the city water connector. See above for the hot water tank fill. One way to check the fill of the hot water tank is to open a hot water valve at your sink and when it stops venting air, sputtering, and flows smoothly, the tank is full. You can also open the vent valve at the top of the tank (behind the panel door outside) and if only water comes out, then you can be sure it is full.

Hopefully, this will help you.

1.  If I hook up to the city water connection does that fill or bypass my fresh water tank?
2.  If it bypasses the fresh water tank how does it fill the hot water tank?
3.  Do I have to pressurize the system to use?
4.  Concerning the black and grey water at a site with sewage - do I just use my black and grey water tanks then dump them at the site or hook the hose directly to the outlet of the tank and use directly?

The next couple of nights we will be going to a campsite with no facilities so now my question is:
1.  Prior to leaving the above campsite I will fill the fresh water tank (unless it is already full from the city water connection).  When I fill the fresh water tank what do I have to do to ensure the hot water tank is also filled?  Don't think I have figured that one out yet.

Thanks for the help.

1) it bypasses it.
2) the WH is after the bifurcation point of the two water systems.
3) the city water connection is pressurized by the city water.
4) dump tanks when needed. Always try to be 2/3rds full before dumping. It's OK to just add water to the tanks as needed for a good flush.

1b) See answer 2 above.
