Topic: Another soon to be RPODer Posted: 25 Apr 2016 at 5:00pm |
Thanks for the welcome. We look forward to meeting people as we start our cross country trips. Will start with a few short trips to work out the bugs and break in the Jeep for trailering

We have been podding for 5 plus years now with our 177 and enjoy it as much now as when we first got it in March 2011. We boondock at lot since we like camping at national parks and state forest campgrounds but also enjoy having electricity at times also. Enjoy your retirement, enjoy this great country and all the vast scenery and spectacular creation. Enjoy one another's company and all the people you will be meeting along the way as you begin this new chapter of your lives.

We took a tour of a180 at a dealership the other day. Pretty nice floor plan and lots of open room.

Awesome. We're going to purchase a 2017 RP-180 in 4 to 6 weeks, when the dealer gets them in.

Welcome to the group, we have had our 180 for a little over a month, been out in it a week for a shakedown. We are starting a 5,000 mile trip this weekend. My guess 5 to 6 weeks.
I am sure you will enjoy your pod, we are first time campers and have a great time so far.
Good luck on your travels.

Hi,!!!! I bought my 180 a couple of months ago and have made 2 short trips. Absolutely love it!! Just right for 2 people and lots more storage than I thought it would have. The bathroom is wonderful. Planning a month trip out west in July and can't wait!! I think you are going to love it!!

Hi. We are about to buy a 180 in the next few days. We have been researching RV's for two years in anticipation of retiring and seeing the country. We are not campers but hate to have to pack and repack every few days and also do not like surprises checking into unknown hotels/motels (although trip advisor has been a major help). We also did not want to buy a large vehicle to be able to tow a TT since we will only use it a maximum of two months a year. So we settled on a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk (we cannot wait to go off-roading out west with it). With the factory tow package it will tow 4500 pounds. Amazing how many dealers tried to tell us a 3800 pound TT would work. We are glad we held out and found that RPOD came out with a dry bath (we had a wet bath on a boat and hated having to use the toilet after someone just showered). We also do not want to learn how to take GI showers (we have bad backs and need long hot showers to start the day) so we want to add a Truma tankless heater for unlimited hot water which is great if you camp with a sewer connection which we plan to do most of the time. We are trying to locate a dealer that sells both 2017 RPODs and Truma heaters. We found one three hours away so will buy it if they meet our price. Otherwise we will buy the RPOD at one place and have the Truma installed at another RV dealer (who says I need to make a service appointment 6 weeks in advance since I did not buy the RV from them). We have followed the advice on this forum for awhile and appreciate all the help we received just from reading the posts. We look forward to now finally joining the group and starting our RPOD adventures!!!
